It's been over a year since RiZi's popular, previously most recent release on fakenumberland, VACATION '22. The multifaceted composer and visual artist has far from slowed down in her endlessly groundbreaking creative work since, not only producing the monumental HI-SPEED EXPLOSION DEVICE album, but working on her vibrant videogame, the FPS-by-way-of-Namco KIPIDON ( jcportals.neocities.org/portals/games/kipidon )! And now, for RiZi's fourth appearance on FNL, she's put together a wonderful assortment of jams that are just simply happiness in concentrated audio form. Bear witness to the SOUND OF FEELING.

On a summer atmosphere layered with bitcrushed vignettes, the album begins building anticipation before the curtains EXPLODE open with the lead single: Somebody New establishes a zany, energizing character that the ensuing album maintains gloriously. RiZi's signature style of big beats spiced up with a generous helping of plunderphonics is especially jaunty here, giving the impression that you're rolling through a wacky PS2-era animated world.

Sundog Funk, for instance, could get one itching to dance like a wacky wall crawler. How To Have Fun On a Rainy Day and Lady Lady bring swingy beats that are incredibly smooth and as aromatic as a car freshener. And tracks like EZ BREE-Z and Tongue Twister Challenge are high-tempo symphonies that makes a stationary desk feel much like a roadster with the top down.

Everything leads up to the album's climactic centerpiece ORDINARY LA LA. That being, a humongous 8-minute opus of jazz samples and driving percussion, full of many precisely-crafted details and unexpected ideas! And as this musical rollercoaster reaches the end of its journey and makes its grand return to the station, you'll be left with an immense energetic feeling that will surely last long after the album ends. RiZi has, no question, done an immaculate job creating this release, and will likely go down in history as one of the artist's MANY finest hours.
