The work of the amazing musician and digital artist Astroblur has long been in rotation here at FNL World Headquarters. With that in mind, you can imagine that we're pretty stoked to work with her and release this amazing new album!! This is GRAVITAS ANIMI, an album with a story behind it! As the lore goes, this album concerns a hypothetical forgotten, now unearthed RPG game from the PS2 days, the titular Gravitas Animi. Think late pre-merger SquareSoft vibes! The screen-capture cover and "restored" soundfont-y tunes that feel as if they were cleaned up from game expo demo recordings add to the feeling.

While those are the most overtly RPG-esque elements, the overarching vibe is not lost during the other tracks, which -- pardon my use of all caps here -- are SPECTACULAR! The spunky, slamming hyper-glitch-trance that the artist has explored and iterated upon over the course of her Anthology series is in its best form yet here! The otherworldly jams that comprise this mega album will make you feel like you're dancing on Saturn. It hits hard, fast, and only lets up once you reach the results screen. This is quite possibly the most adventurous, most epic, most mythical fakenumberland release yet, so grab your headphones and join us on Astroblur's sonic journey!

By spending a lot more time focusing on the fine details in this two track EP, CEAEL captures the spirit of earlier dnb releases by creating their tracks in singles format, making them stand out by themselves as well as compliment each other in a more encapsulated form. Dawn focuses a lot more on putting its synths at the forefront and using percussion to compliment the melody, while Sweetness works with more muted tones, allowing for complex integrations of break editing.
