It's 2024, and just about time to get fakenumberland's third year of operations on the road. If there's one thing about us, it's that we like start things off with a bang. And this split of zany tracks from Jasmine Smoke and Jaiden Macintosh is a ferocious stream of crackles-- most metaphorical, some literal!

Both of Jasmine and Jaiden's respective musical canons are perpetually being built upon and reinvented. They're equally proficient in creating remarkable experimental works on the spur of the moment, and this album exemplifies that gloriously. Jasmine's side introduces itself through a cacophony of glassy squelching that eventually coagulates into atonal drone, and then explodes into psytrance! From there, the release goes in many captivating directions-- "layer 1 excerpt" creates horrific screeches and thuds a jam so catchy, it's bonkers. The last two tracks even veer into the realm of acoustic guitar!

Jaiden's portion of the release is equally as intriguing and unpredictable. Absolutely livid speedcore-esque headbangers explode onto the scene. Scored with rapid-fire beats and unexpected twists, this section of the album is brisk and bonkers!! It all culminates in 22 minutes of airy, subtle atmosphere, as if the very album is gradually releasing the pressure that has built over its duration. Suffice to say, is there any better way for FNL to kick off a new year than with an album as outlandishly inventive as this?!
