This next release is one that I'm super incredibly stoked to put out: perhaps you recognize the name Clean Slate from their studio albums, "paradise tension" on New Motion and "connection lost" on Maulcat, among others. Well, we're extra happy to be the home for the next in the series! "in places" is the latest mini-album in the artist's ever-growing canon.

Compared to the loopy plunderphonic vignettes of connection lost, this release is clubbier, shifting the focus to original compositions, closer to traditional song structure, and being just plain fun. It's unlike any Clean Slate release before, standing out yet at the same time fitting into their discography like a glove.

Here, Clean Slate has added in a few new tricks to their sound repertoire. Over the seven "decon (a self-made genre descriptor) experiments" of this album, CS augments their jamming style with some FM-esque synthetic tones and arpeggios. Plus, if you liked the catchiest parts of their previous music, you'll feel right at home here: there's plenty of slamming beat lines here to go around. It's extra difficult to explain Clean Slate's incredibly unique style any further; the best explanation is giving it a spin! Hope you enjoy!
